Hamster activity time

Hamsters are mainly active at night, especially between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. or from 0 a.m. to 4 a.m. This is because hamsters are nocturnal animals. They like to sleep during the day and become active at night. In the dark, hamsters have relatively strong sensory abilities, especially vision, which makes them more active at night.

  Hamsters' Living Habits

Hamsters are highly sensitive to temperature changes. The most suitable living temperature for them is between 20 - 28°C, and the temperature shouldn't vary too much. They don't like to be exposed to direct sunlight and prefer to stay in cool and dry places. Hamsters are extremely afraid of water and can't be bathed with water. Instead, they can be cleaned with bath sand. Moreover, hamsters have the habit of self - cleaning, so they usually don't need to be bathed frequently.

  Differences from Human Daily Routines

To live in harmony with hamsters, it is recommended to interact with them at night rather than disturbing their rest during the day. Hamsters' active hours are opposite to human daily routines. Daytime is their rest time, and they are most active at night. Therefore, it is a better choice to feed hamsters at night and install a silent running wheel to avoid disturbing human rest.
