The sleep cycle of hamsters is very short. For example, the average sleep cycle of a Syrian hamster (golden hamster) is about 11.5 minutes. That is, from the start of sleep, entering light sleep, then entering deep sleep, and finally waking up, which in total takes about 11.5 minutes. Hamsters can cycle through this sleep pattern about 75 times a day, and the average total daily sleep duration is approximately 14.5 hours.

The daily sleep time of hamsters can also reach about 15 to 20 hours, or on average, it can be as long as 16 hours.
As nocturnal animals, hamsters usually sleep for 12 to 18 hours, and they mostly sleep during the day. Their sleep time is significantly longer than that of humans.
Please note that disturbing hamsters during their sleep cycle may make them unhappy. Therefore, try not to disturb them abruptly while they are sleeping.
